Get Pumped on How to Boost Your Business and Become a Boss Babe!
I’ll be honest: I’m a total boss babe wanna-be. I was dying to learn the way I can take the leap into starting my business and bring my blog to the next level. My husband is the king of self-help books and told me about many of these on this list. I am sharing some of the best books I’ve read and that are on my list this summer to help me become a boss babe in the end (hopefully!)
Present Over Perfect: Leaving Behind Frantic for a Simpler, More Soulful Way of Living by Shauna Niequist
This is hands down the best book I’ve ever read! For the past few months, I’ve gone in and out of different things and this book rocked my world. It gave me a whole new outlook on life and motivated me to do things that I would have never done before. It’s definitely a feel-good, empowering book.
You Are a Bada**: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero
This book makes you feel this exact phrase. I’m halfway through and I feel like I can conquer anything I put my mind to. It gives incredible business tips and is already in the top 5 favorite self-help books for me. (Update: I just finished and I’m floored! This is a must-read for sure!)
You Are a Bada** at Making Money: Master the Mindset of Wealth by Jen Sincero
Who doesn’t want to learn how to make more money? I definitely need to learn how to make my finances my friend rather than something I dred to look over. I loved Jen Sincero’s first book so this is #1 on my list this summer.
Leave Your Mark: Land Your Dream Job. Kill It In Your Career. Rock Social Media by Aliza Licht
My mom gave me this book for my birthday and I can’t wait to read it! From what I’ve read online, this is the must read boss babe book for building a personal brand.
#GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso
I’ve talked about this book in a previous blog post, but holy crap I love it! She’s super witty which I love and she doesn’t hold back ANYTHING! This is the first “self-help” book I’ve ever read and it’s a great place to start if you don’t know which book to read first.
Why is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) By Mindy Kraling
Mindy Kraling is hysterical so this book should be on your list regardless of if you’re starting a business or not. I got this at a used book store a while ago and I have a goal to finish it before the end of the summer. It’s all about her life and how she’s become the actress she is today.
The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You’re Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are by Brene Brown
I have a ton of friends who read this book before. This is a great book to read because it will help you connect with yourself and think of what direction to bring your business. I’ve led my blog down so many different paths because I thought that’s where I wanted to go. Now, I think I’ve finally gone down the road that is truly “me.”
Crush It: Why NOW is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion by Gary Vaynerchuk
My husband recommends this book to everyone! Gary goes through the step by step process to boost their business online. He is the social media KING and everything I’ve learned from him has only helped me in the long run.
Crushing It: How Great Entrepreneurs Build Their Business and Influence and How You Can Too by Gary Vaynerchuk
This book walks through how different entrepreneurs used the tactics they learned in Crush It to build their businesses. I’m currently listening to this on Audible and I’m obsessed! I need to go back and read Crush It now. I’m super inspired for the things to come and I can’t wait to share it with you all.
Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies About Who You Are so You Can Become Who You Are Meant to Be by Rachel Hollis
This is the book to read if you have limiting thoughts about what you can achieve. Let’s be totally honest: that’s all of us! I’m all about super witty books and this one does not disappoint.
Book Yourself Solid: The Fastest, Easiest, and Most Reliable System for Getting More Clients Than You Can Handle Even if You Hate Marketing and Selling by Michael Port
My husband recommends this book to me every time I finish another book so this one is definitely on my list next. I just have so many I want to read haha. This book holds the key to building clientele and learning how to create your own personal brand.
The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business by Charles Duhigg
My husband also has this one I’m very interested in reading. It goes through the power of habits and how to break ones to begin doing the things we want to do. I know it took me a long time to toss out certain habits to get to where I want to go. Everyday I get closer and closer to where I want to be.
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change by Stephen R. Covey
I read the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens when I was in elementary school, but the theme is the same. It goes through the habits of successful people that I’ve wanted to implement in my own life.
The Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness by Dave Ramsey
I will admit I don’t agree with everything in this book, but it’s a great place to start if you struggle with money. This will help you get on your feet and learn how to save and create a financial plan to help your business succeed.
Get the Guy: Learn the Secrets of the Male Mind to Find the Man You Want and the Love You Deserve by Matthew Hussey
This sounds weird to put on this list for a boss babe, but hear me out! This is the best book I’ve ever read about creating relationships. From friends to dates to my now husband, this book taught me how to create more authentic connections which every boss babe need to know. And if this book helps you get a date, you can thank me later 😉
These are all the books on my list to become a boss babe this summer. If you read any of these, please share your thoughts with me and I would love to hear what you thought. Also, if you’re local, you’re more than welcome to come read with me by the pool this summer. Happy reading!
XOXO Kayla
