This is the perfect staple for any closet.
It’s been years since I have had a denim jacket. I gave mine away during my late high school years and that was one of the worst mistakes I made where my closet was concerned. Denim jackets are so versatile and have a place in every season. I got this adorable distressed denim from Wilson’s Leather. I fell in love the moment I saw it and wondered how I have gone so long without getting another. Like I mentioned before, they are one of the ultimate wardrobe staples and can be worn in more ways than one.
The first way is to just wear it normally with your arms through the sleeves. This is typically how I wear it when it is colder. However, Utah is scorching except the past couple of days! I also pair my denim jacket with some of my shorter sleeve tops to work so I can stay warm. My desk is right under the AC unit so some days I freeze!
The second is with the jacket draped across your shoulders. This is one of my favorites now since it provides the coverage you desire without being too hot.
The third way I wear the most is around my waist. Tying a flannel or denim jacket around the waist is one of my favorite trends. It gives an added touch to any outfit. With the beginning of Utah summers, sometimes the morning is freezing, then I go to work inside (which is also cold,) and the end of the day is almost completely unbearably hot. Most days I go through this entire cycle.
There is an additional way that I use mine to get the fullest potential out of my jacket. Since I am freezing alllll of the time, I bring it with me to dinner or church just so I can have it draped across my lap. This may sound funny, but a girl’s gotta do what she can while still looking presentable. I love blankets, but wearing jackets looks better.
Let me know if there are any other ways you wear your denim jackets. Also, what outfits do you like to pair it with? Please share in the comments and don’t hesitate to ask questions!
