Get the most bang for your buck with drugstore makeup!
I get a TON of questions about makeup! Which brand is the best? What techniques do I use? What do I like most? I found that is there is high quality makeup in the luxury aisle, but also some hidden treasures on the drugstore side. Today, I am sharing the best drugstore makeup on the market!
Eyeshadow
The Maybelline 24 hour Color Tattoo truly lives up to its name. It stays ALL day! I love to use this as a base for other eyeshadow so it doesn’t all fall off by the end of the day or I will use it by itself with some mascara for a quick makeup look. I have the colors Bad to the Bronze and Inked in Pink.
Eyeliners
L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lacquer Liner in Blackest Black is the one I used before I found that works the best for me. It doesn’t crease or rub off by the end of the day which is so hard to find in eyeliners. It comes in a little pot with a brush for application. It’s super easy to put in and control the amount for as much or as little you prefer.
If you’re feeling a little adventurous, the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Paints Liquid Eyeliner in Electric Blue is for you! I saw one of my favorite beauty bloggers testing out blue eyeliner and I fell in love! I know it’s a total shout out to the 80’s, but with a neutral eyeshadow and lip, it totally brings out my eyes!
Mascaras
Many people don’t realize that majority of mascaras can only do one thing: volume, length or color. I wanted to share the best drugstore makeup in each category.
The Maybelline Rocket Volume Express Mascara makes my lashes thick and voluminous! I love to use this one without liner or with a smoky eye.
The L’Oreal Paris Lash Paradise gives super long lashes perfect to pair with a liner or even by itself. People will all think you’re wearing fake lashes, but it’s the same look for less than $10!
The L’Oreal Voluminous Original in Cobalt Blue is another favorite in that royal blue color. This gives your lashes a pop in the sunlight. It’s very subtle inside, but once you are outside, it will definitely be more noticeable. This is definitely one of my very favorite mascaras and best drugstore makeup products. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Bronzer
The Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer is the Best. Bronzer. EVER! It goes on really smooth and I would definitely recommend it to people who are just starting out using bronzer because it is very forgiving. It also is really blendable and smells AMAZING!
Blushes
The CoverGirl TruBlend Baked Powder Blush in Light Rose is the perfect blush for subtle color. I love it because it has a touch of shimmer and is really easy to blend. This is my go-to for my everyday makeup compared to the other blush I have.
The Essence Satin Touch Blush in Satin Love is my favorite blush for fall and winter. It’s a little bit more mauve than the CoverGirl one, but it is gorgeous on the skin.
Highlighter
Wet N Wild Precious Petals Highlighter is my #1 favorite highlighter right now. It’s perfect for people beginning to wear highlighter since it is very forgiving. The pigment is gorgeous and I love the peachy glow it gives since it brightens up my face without looking like a disco ball.
I also love the Physician’s Butter Highlighter in my picture above. It has a nice pigment and lasts all day long.
Brows
The NYX Eyebrow Cake Brow comes with two colors in each pack. I always mix the two colors closest to my brow shade and then apply it to my brow. It also has a little bit of wax to set the brows and make sure nothing falls out of place.
Setting Products
The E.L.F HD Undereye Concealer Setting Powder is GOLD! I’ve never had a concealer stay on better than when I set it with this. It’s translucent and helps me make up last for hours longer than before. It’s one of the best drugstore makeup products!
The NYX Matte Setting Spray is also magical. I read a review once tlaking about a girl who got into a car accident and woke up from a coma three days later, but none of her makeup came off since she used this product! I don’t know how true that is, but I can testify that it has worked wonders for me.
Lipstick
The CoverGirl Melting Pout Liquid Lipstick is the dupe for the Too Faced Melted Lip Cream even down to a nearly identical applicator. I bought three colors and use it all the time. It does have to be reapplied throughout the day, but it is super moisturizing while adding a gorgeous color to your lips.
Sadly, I haven’t been able to find any foundation or concealer that work well for me in drugstore makeup. If you have any suggestions on your drugstore favorites, I would love to test it out.
XOXO Kayla
