Wide leg pants are a huge trend this year! Here’s three ways to style them:
2020 has many fashion trends from tie dye, crop tops, etc. Wide leg pants can feel intimidating because you’re adding more fabric into the mix. However, they can be very slimming with the right silhouette. I teamed up with my friend Catherine on TheConfidentlySpeaking, com to share a couple styling tips and easy outfit ideas so you can try this trend for yourself!
Q: What do you wear with wide leg pants?
A: There’s so many different options for styling! I like to wear mine with lightweight blouses or graphic tees the most. However, I’ve worn them with a denim jacket and a t-shirt or a sweater. I find a lot of inspiration on Pinterest and Instagram when I search #widelegpants.
Q: What color wide leg pants should I get?
A: Anything you would like! I recommend a more neutral pair like black, cream, olive or something like that. Mustard is neutral in my eyes but I know that isn’t the same for everyone. Another good option is finding a pair of wide leg denim. I just got a cropped pair and love them!
Q: What top looks best with wide leg pants?
A slimmer top tucked into wide leg pants looks the best in my opinion. This helps accentuate the waistline and you can add a belt as well if you would like.
Outfit Ideas
Outfit #1:
I styled my wide leg pants with a graphic t-shirt. I tucked in my shirt, added a pair of sandals and grabbed a colorful purse because I’m all about color lately.
Outfit #2:
This is how I would wear wide leg pants to work or on a date night. I paired them with a lightweight blouse with interesting sleeves and the best heels ever! (They look like heels but feel like sandals which is a huge WIN!)
Outfit #3:
This outfit might be one of my favorites ever because of how colorful it is. Once the weather gets cooler, I’m definitely going to break out my sweaters again.
These are just a couple ways to style wide leg pants. If you want to get some more ideas, head on over to my friend, Catherine for style inspiration. What should I style next? Let me know in the comments and go to this post for other styling tips.
