Happy 4th of July!
I love this holiday! It’s always been a blast for me since I was little. There’s always a lot to do (which I like) and it is low-stress (which I LOVE). I wanted to share a list of my favorite things to do over 4th of July weekend. Majority of them are low cost and so fun to do with the whole family or a group of friends!
Watch the parade
I am not usually a “crowds” person but I love the parade that goes through my town. Everyone goes all out and if you have little kids, they will love it! Make sure to get there early to get a nice patch of shade. Don’t forget the sunscreen and lots of water!
Swim the day away!
Water is my happy place. Whenever I can be in the sun, I’m good! It’s such a nice way to cool off.
Host a barbeque
After the pool, you are usually STARVING right? I think it is a requirement to have a barbeque on the 4th of July. We are going over to some our friends’ house to party with them and I cannot wait!
Go to a baseball game
What is more American than a baseball game? Also, there is Dippin Dots which is always a plus. Stay until the game so you can watch fireworks from the field.
Play Games at the County Fair
I like to play the games more than I like going on the rides since they don’t seem that safe to me. I love the atmosphere playing the games, eating the food and seeing all the cool vendors from the area.
Launch fireworks
My husband’s family is very into lighting off their own fireworks but I prefer being an innocent bystander. If you are brave, light off your own but if you are like me, find a nice view to watch them. My favorite spot is a little bit up the mountains so I can see the different colors light up the entire valley.
Don’t forget to wear red, white and blue!
When I was little, I always wore those classic Old Navy 4th of July tees. Not that those are bad, but I think I have stepped up my game a little. I found the cutest baseball tee dress (and a similar one here and here) with the softest fabric since I am one of those people that avoid wearing pants as much as possible in the summer. If you prefer wearing pants, I have another adorable raglan option that pairs perfectly with jeans and adidas that I found for you guys! These options are great for all summer long so don’t feel like this is only for once a year.
