Makeup that you turn to time and time again!
I get a lot of questions on my everyday makeup routine so I wanted to share my typical products for my daily makeup. If you want the details, just keep reading!
Clean Skin
First you want to start with totally clean skin. I wash my face almost every night, but you can still get some pretty nasty things building up on your skin through the night. I use a makeup wipe in the morning so I can make sure I start off with a fresh face. Next is the primer. I can’t stress how important this is! I moisturize at night to make sure my skin is fully hydrated when I wake up, but using some in the mornings can cause makeup to slough off throughout the day.
Primer
I use my PUR Color Correcting Hydrating Primer to make sure my skin stays moisturized while keeping my makeup in place. I usually mix a little bit of the Becca Backlight Priming Filter with it because it adds a little dimension and brightness to the face too.
Foundation
I couldn’t decide which foundation I wanted to share so I’m sharing both. I alternate pretty regularly between the BareMinerals BarePro Foundation (in Dawn 02) and the PUR Bare It All 4 in 1 Foundation (in Porcelain). Both work amazingly but for different reasons. The one from BareMinerals is more liquid which provides a lighter coverage allowing my freckles to peek through while correcting my redness on my face which I’m actually wearing right now. It also stays ALL day long which is a HUGE plus! The PUR foundation works really well for those with severely dry skin like me. It’s very moisturizing and sits well on the face, but sometimes it doesn’t last the full work day, but I think I wear this onethe most in my everyday makeup routine! The secret to wearing these foundations is this sponge I found from L’Oreal. It works just as well if not better than the Beauty Blender for a fraction of the price. You’ll thank me later.
Brows and Eyes
After foundation and before my concealer, I do my brows and eyeshadow. It’s much easier to clean up fall out or mistakes in this order. My favorite palette is the Lorac Pro 3. This is a warm neutral palette and I can’t get enough! It comes with a small eyeshadow primer which helps the color to last all day long. I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer and I can’t find anything better than this. It gives hair-like strokes and doesn’t look too dark or cakey like other brow products that I have used. I top it off with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel to make sure my hard work doesn’t fall off faster than it took to finish it.
Eyeliner
I don’t usually wear eyeliner everyday, but I have been loving the BareMinerals Lash Domination Liquid Ink eyeliner. It has an awesome felt tip and is super easy to use to make your liner as thick or thin as you desire.
Concealer
Next is concealer. I’ve tried multiple concealers including the popular Tarte Shape Tape and while I’m a huge Tarte lover, I keep running back to the NARS Soft Matte Concealer. I use the color vanilla and I’ve never loved a concealer more. Is that a bold statement? GOOD! You need to know how amazing this is. It’s definitely an investment, but the little pot will last you a long time. It’s easily my very favorite product in my everyday makeup routine. It goes on really creamy, but doesn’t crease and helps make me look awake even at the end of an 8 hour work day.
Contour
I use two things for contouring: the W7 Makeup and Glow Bronzing Base and the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer. First, I put two lines into where my cheekbones are supposed to be (I have to define my chubby cheeks) and then buff it out with a contour brush. Then I dust some bronzer over top to add definition to my face and slim out my cheeks. Next I put on Essence Satin Love Blush. It’s less than $5 and one of the best blushes I’ve ever used. The color is very pigmented and is a gorgeous color. I add highlighter to the top of my cheeks and along my temples to highlight the high points of my cheeks and along my nose and cupid’s bow as well.
Lashes
I spray my face with the NYX Matte Makeup Setting Spray to keep my makeup on all day long. However, if you aren’t using waterproof mascara, do this first. After that, put on the Innisfree Skinny Microcara on the lower lash line and the Benefit Roller Lash on the top because you’ll never have to use a lash curler ever again! Add a swipe of the Too Faced Chocolate Lip Cream and then you are done!
This is the key to my everyday makeup routine. Sound overwhelming? I promise it’s not! It’s so easy I can do it in 10 minutes or less. If you have any questions or are confused on anything, feel free to reach out and I will help the best way I can. Click here to get to my other tutorials.
