Here are the building blocks to mix and match every school outfit!
School is already back in session! Can you believe it?! It seemed like school got out yesterday and I went to my sister’s high school graduation last week. The summer FLEW by and my sister now leaves to Utah in less than two weeks!!! (cue the tears!) Every year before school, I had the same mindset when it came to putting outfits together. Whether you’re going back to high school, starting college, teaching your own kids or headed to school drop off, this concept works for everyone! I’m going to walk you through how to put together the perfect school outfit so you can mix and match to your heart’s content. I wanted to give a huge shoutout to My Sister’s Closet Boutique for gifting me these pieces to share with you. They have incredible boutique pieces for the most affordable prices I can find. Also, I have a discount code for you (which makes it even cheaper!) for 10% off with code KAYLASMITH.
TOPS
I love finding tops I can mix and match with a variety of outfits such as graphic t shirts, solid colors, neutral patterns, etc. My favorites are usually graphic tees. This ‘Brunch’ Tee from My Sister’s Closet Boutique is adorable, super stretchy and can go with anything. The fabric is very high quality and the letters are embroidered so I don’t have to worry about any of them peeling or falling off.
BOTTOMS
In my high school and college, we weren’t allowed to wear jeans with holes or distressing. Go for a nice pair of blue jeans, blacks jeans or paper bag pants for your go-to school outfit. My Sister’s Closet Boutique has the CUTEST Kancan Jeans that I love and they go with everything. Get a pair and thank me later.
LAYERING
Florida doesn’t get cold very often but I always bring another layer for my school outfit when I go inside. (The AC freeze is REAL!) I was so excited when I found the Rust Corduroy Jacket because it’s my favorite color and it’s absolutely adorable! You can use a jacket, a cardigan, or layer a sweater over your top depending on where you live and what you prefer.
SHOES
It doesn’t matter what shoes you wear as long as they are comfy! I’ve made the mistake too many times of choosing the wrong pair of shoes. If your school allows you to wear open toed shoes, get some cute slides or sandals. If not, I love my white converse or Vans.
I’ll be sharing my favorite school outfit on my Instagram stories so head there to see that and some of my other favorites! Get some of our back to school pieces from My Sister’s Closet Boutique and use code KAYLAJSMITH for 10% off your order! Happy shopping!
