All the perfect pieces that make up my summer capsule wardrobe!

Summer is finally here and I couldn’t be happier about it! There’s nothing I love more than being able to wear dresses and shorts. Hallelujah! I’ve loved creating mini capsule wardrobes that are my go-to pieces for each season. I’m breaking down my reasoning behind each clothing item and the ways I will use it in my summer capsule wardrobe. Tops

Graphic Tee

The most recent addition to my summer capsule wardrobe is my Good Vibes graphic tee. I posted a picture of it recently on my Instagram and you guys LOVED it! It can be easily worn with a casual skirt, shorts or jeans. I tuck the front of mine in, but it might also be long enough to wear as a swimsuit cover up for some of you shorter girls. This shirt makes me so happy and gives you all the good vibes until you hit up the pool after work.

Striped Tie Top

Give me all the stripes in the summer (or anytime of year really!) I got this adorable striped tie front top a couple weeks ago. I mentioned my obsession with orange before and I think the red orange color is just darling. A few weeks ago, I wrote a blog post about how to style a tie front top so I’ll refer you there if you’re wondering how to wear one 🙂

Button Up Top

I couldn’t stop there with the stripes. I’m throwing it back to my high school “prep” days with this shirt. Taz calls it my “pirate” shirt haha. I thought the color would make me look tan (eventually) and I can’t wait to wear it with jeans for a date night, a cute skirt or even tied over a summer dress.

T-Shirts

I also added two plain colored t-shirts so I can mix and match with different outfits. This way, not everything will have striped haha.

Bottoms

Drawstring Skirt

If you like wearing skirts, the summer is the perfect time to introduce them into your wardrobe. I found two skirts that I fell in love with this season. I got this floral drawstring skirt and it’s the comfiest skirt I’ve ever owned! It’s stretchy and can be tightened or loosened which I love. I’m all about mixing patterns so I might pair it with one of my striped tops, but I have a plain colored t-shirt just in case I want to be minimal.

Striped Skirt

The other skirt I love is a-line with nautical stripes, buttons down the front, pockets and a tie at the waist. I’ve been dying for a skirt like this for such a long time and I was so excited when I found one. I think it’s adorable. It’s really lightweight material and I will probably pair it with my Good Vibes tee or one of the plain shirts I have. 

Denim

It took a LONG time for me to be able to find good denim shorts. Old Navy has a ton of longer shorts that don’t necessarily have to go all the way to the knee. They also have some shorter shorts if you are into that. I usually try to stick to mid-length shorts and I’m obsessed with this pair. They’re really stretchy and mid-rise which I prefer. I bought another pair in a different wash because I loved them so much. Add in a good pair of jeans too and you should be set for bottoms.

Shoes

A good summer capsule wardrobe always begins with shoes, because I can finally wear sandals again! At home, I wear sandals year round so putting them away for a while was a huge change for me. Old Navy is killing it in all of their summer clothing from head to toe. Seriously, almost everything on this list is from there. They have insane deals with really high quality things. I bought two pairs of sandals for the summer (a two-toned pair and blush slides) that I plan on rocking all summer long. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll notice that the two-toned pair is in almost EVERY single picture (Now that I told you, you’ll never unsee it haha)

Necessities

T-Shirt Dress

Dresses and swimsuits are the real necessities in a summer capsule wardrobe. I added two dresses to my summer capsule wardrobe and I couldn’t be happier with them! This is an adorable mauve drawstring dress from Poppy and Dot and I got it because it’s super easy to throw on as a cover up or to wear around during the hot summer days. Off the Shoulder Dress

Each year, I always want to find a go-to pretty summer dress. I found this off the shoulder dress from Old Navy last month. I don’t wear dresses off the shoulder, but this one can be worn on the shoulders as well. On Instagram stories, I created a poll with two different patterns of this dress. You guys picked this one and it was such a good choice! The patterns is even more beautiful in person and I couldn’t be happier with it.

Swimsuits

I talked about my favorite modest swimsuits for the summer a couple weeks ago, but I recently added one other. I got this swimsuit from Forever21 and I’m obsessed! Pink is my color this season and it can be seen across my entire summer capsule wardrobe.

Accessories

Accessories are last! I’m not a huge jewelry person other than my wedding ring and a gold necklace Taz gave me for my birthday. I’m currently loving the straw bag trend. I have a crossbody and a tote that I switch between.

That’s my summer capsule wardrobe! As you may have noticed, I gravitate towards a certain color scheme. I would suggest doing the same when starting a summer capsule wardrobe so then everything will go together.
