When money is tight, your hair doesn’t have to suffer!
Taz and I recently started following a budget. I know we are two years late haha. We separated all our expenses and have a limited amount that we can spend each month. My new budget for hair and makeup is VERYYY low and I know I’m probably not the only one in this boat. I put together some of my favorite budget-friendly hair care products in my current routine. They are AMAZING and I’ll share my favorite ways to use them.
Condition
I’m a die hard fan of leave-in conditioner! I think two great alternatives are coconut oil or the Kristen Ess Leave-In Conditioner. I haven’t had a chance to try the Kristen Ess for a long period of time, but I have some friends who RAVE about it. All of her products are really budget-friendly and can be found exclusively at Target. Before I found the leave-in I love, I used to use coconut oil. Spray a few pumps on your ends and work up to the roots of your damp hair. This keeps it from drying out too much and gives strength to weakened hair.
Brush
Bathpack has the BEST brushes around! I did a comparison between these brushes and the Wetbrush before on my blog, BUT Bathpack brushes are only $5! They work amazingly on dry or damp hair and they don’t pull like other brushes I’ve used in the past. If you get anything, this is the best product in my budget-friendly hair care routine.
Curling Wand
As you may know, I love curling my hair. I know I’ve talked about the Beachwaver before and a few of you asked me to find a more budget-friendly option. I totally forgot about an AWESOME curling wand that I got before my study abroad to Europe: the Travel Smart Curling Wand by Conair. Specifically, I got this one because the voltage is compatible with traveling and the curls last for DAYS! Plus, it’s only $20 on Amazon which is a STEAL!
Finishing Spray
After I’m done styling my hair, I finish it off with some spray. I mentioned before that I LOVE Kristen Ess products. Depending on the day, I’ll use the texturizing spray or the beach wave spray. The first day after styling, I texturize to bring more body and lift to my hair. Every other day, I’ll use the beach wave spray to revive my curls.
That’s it! There’s only 5 products I use during my budget-friendly hair care routine. Let me know what you use and if you try any of these products.
