Today I’m sharing 10 ways to style bermuda shorts! This is one of my most requested blog posts because it is HOT out there and bermuda shorts can be kind of tricky to style. I hope this blog post gives you some outfit inspiration and helps you get the most out of your wardrobe.
Outfit #1: Graphic T-shirt
The first way to style bermuda shorts is with a graphic t-shirt. I picked up this botanical flower t-shirt recently and love wearing it during the summer. I cuff the sleeves to make my outfit look a little more intentional than just throwing on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. When I wear this outfit, I would pair it with sandals or mules depending on my mood, but there’s so many different ways you can put this outfit together and make it your own.
Outfit #2: Collared Shirt
The second way to style bermuda shorts with a collared shirt. I think this dresses up the outfit a little more without having to suffer from how hot jeans can get. Tuck the shirt in and wear a belt or just do a french tuck which is what I usually do. Style this with a pair of mules, sandals or sneakers to dress it up or down. I love this outfit because it feels more elevated than just wearing a t-shirt and jeans.
Outfit #3: Peplum Top
The third way to wear bermuda shorts is with a peplum top. I love peplums because it hits at the smallest part of your waist and then it flows out and I think this works with bermuda shorts really well because it gives the illusion of a waist when bermuda shorts can feel kind of boxy. Pairing this with a pair of flats or even a pair of sneakers would be really cute.
Outfit #4: Varsity Tee
The fourth way to style bermuda shorts is with a varsity tee. I think this is so cute and then when you pair it with a dad hat, it just looks so cute and put together! I would probably wear this with white converse or vans or something like that. This outfit is perfect for running errands or finding a cute comfy outfit to wear on those days you didn’t wash your hair.
Outfit #5: Blouse
The fifth way to style bermuda shorts is with a nicer top or blouse. I really like this one because of the embroidery and just how loose and flowy it is. It’s a great way to balance the top and the bottom. Bermuda shorts can sometimes hit at a weird spot on your leg and this helps you look as elongated as possible. I wear dress up this outfit with a pair of mules or sandals and a crossbody bag. This is the perfect summer date night outfit. Taz and I don’t dress up very often and this would be a great casual outfit idea.
Outfit #6: Detailed Top
The sixth way to wear bermuda shorts is with a fun sleeve like this! I know I’ve shown this shirt 100 times but I think this is the prettiest basic neutral and the sleeves are stunning! I love this shirt all the time and it looks so cute. I’ll wear this with some sandals or a pair of sneakers because sneakers are a really great way to dress down an outfit.
Outfit #7: Tie Front Top
The seventh way to style bermuda shorts is with a tie front top. I love this one because it is so nice. It doesn’t wrinkle at all so you can literally throw it on the floor and it just looks so effortless. It’s comfy and perfect for summer! I style it with sneakers or sandals and a fun tote bag.
Outfit #8: T-shirt and Duster Cardigan
The eighth way to wear bermuda shorts is with a t-shirt and a long duster cardigan. I know in some places it gets really cold at night during the summer so I wanted to give you an option of how to wear your shorts between seasons. Layers are your friend because the daytime can be sweltering but nights can be chilly. Here’s how I would style them!
Outfit #9: Crop Tee and Cardigan
People are either love crop tees or would rather live without them. I like this one a lot because it hits right at the top of my bermuda shorts instead of exposing my entire stomach. I added this rust orange cardigan to add a little more color to the outfit and because I always like to have a cardigan in my car for those chilly evenings or when I’m doing work at StarBucks. This is darling outfit and I would wear it with a crossbody bag and a pair of mules.
Outfit #10: Hoodie
Last but not least, I have the tenth way to wear bermuda shorts: wear them with a lightweight hoodie! This is a darling beach outfit to a bonfire or to transition between seasons. It’s comfy but so cute at the same time. Lightweight hoodies are a closet staple for me in the summer especially if I’m going to be outside.
