Do Instagram hashtags matter in 2019?
Have you ever want to grow your Instagram? Have you ever wondered if Instagram hashtags actually benefit or hurt you? I’m going through those questions and so many more.
Do Instagram Hashtags Help Me or Hurt Me?
Let’s talk about instagram hashtags! I’ve heard so many times throughout the years that instagram hashtags are dead and you don’t need them at all. That is 10000% FALSE! I can tell you right now that so many people have found me through instagram hashtags. In my instagram analytics for each post, I can see how many people viewed my post through instagram hashtags. I’m going to walk you through the step by step process on how I find instagram hashtags, where you can find them and the best ones for your posts.
How to Find instagram Hashtags in Search
I found this hashtag ( #styled ) that is used frequently among fashion bloggers. Since this one has a lot of posts, sometimes things can get hidden but this is a great resource to find other related hashtags that are smaller and easier to rank for. At the top of the page is where you can see the other instagram hashtags. Take some time and click on each one to see how many posts each one has. My recommendation is to stick between 100,000-1,000,000 posts per instagram hashtag but it can range for a variety of things like smaller niches and location based tags. You can also use a bigger post especially if it is trending. I know I posted on Earth Day and my engagement skyrocketed because of it.
Check Out Top Posts On Instagram Hashtags
Another great way you can go about finding Instagram hashtags is by looking at the hashtags from people who are trending on the hashtags you would like to be on. I clicked on #styleinspo, found the first top post and looked at the additional hashtags they used. From each one, I double checked to see which ones would be relevant. Going through this process is kind of tedious but it’s worked really well for me and if you can put in the time and effort, this can work to your advantage.
Refer to Others’ Hashtags
The third way is to use someone else’s instagram hashtags. This may work but always be careful because you’re trusting that they know what they’re doing. Honestly, they probably don’t! If you copy and paste without doing the research, they may not perform as well.
Check Out Twitter
This sounds weird to think to look at Twitter for Instagram hashtags, but using some of the trending hashtags on Twitter has a potential to trend on Instagram and get on the explore page. Add them to your post as long as they relate to get a boost in the algorithm.
Use a Hashtag Generator
There are tons of different apps out there to get instagram hashtags. You can type in one and it can auto generate other related ones. However, it works and it doesn’t I typed in #floridablogger and instead of giving me other Florida tags, it gave me instagram hashtags for a ton of different states. Be super vigilant because sometimes it can add really weird hashtags that have nothing related to it at all so it’s a great way to get free instagram hashtags but honestly, you get what you get.
I would say put in the time if you can and if you have the time, look for your own hashtags that work the best for you and your audience. If all of that sounds hard, you’re not wrong. It’s hard and it takes a lot of time and it takes a lot of effort. Sometimes, you don’t want to put it in and you know I totally get it. Social media is not everyone’s thing so I have something for you! I have my very first FREE product. I created it all and it took A LOT of time and I know people don’t have a lot of time to put forth on this.
