Be the best version of yourself rather than the second rate version of someone else. Choose joy.
It seems so common for people to talk about being unique and different, however, I have discovered that not many people practice what they preach. It’s not bad for people to fall into trends because I definitely have! It’s when others overshadow your personality is when this begins to become a problem. I wanted to talk about my journey and how you can begin embracing your own unique personality and choose joy in the small things.
My journey towards embracing personality
I used to only do things based upon what others would think of me instead of doing things differently based on my personality. I now listen to the Alison Show podcast where she talks about the regrets of the dying. She mentioned how people’s biggest regret is not being true to themselves. I cannot stress how important it is to do what you love rather than what others are doing. When I started blogging, I became stressed what others would think and would plan posts based upon numbers rather than passion. Once I changed my view, I started loving myself more and gaining confidence with my work. It’s made a world of difference and that is reflected in my growth over the past year.

Choose Joy
Begin today to start loving yourself more and indulging in the things that lead you to choose joy. Pineapples bring me some of the most joy in the world. They remind me of sunny days, friendship, warmth, my home in Florida and they also bring sentimental value in Taz and I’s relationship. When I found this pineapple dress, I was ecstatic! I think I’ve worn it once or twice a week since I got it. Do the things you love and indulge in the little things that make you happy. For example, fresh flowers on the table, a bite of chocolate (or an entire bag), or even just reading a good book. When you are joyful, you can let your true personality come through. Be real, be vulnerable, be you. Others will fall in love with you once you begin loving yourself and showing your true colors. Let your personality shine, choose joy and love yourself!
