Is the Target beauty box the best bang for your buck?
I have always been skeptical of subscription box services. They state how much the products are worth and then sell the box for 10-20 dollars each. I also didn’t like how they charged every month since you don’t really know what you are getting. However, I caved when I saw May’s Target Beauty Box since I wanted to try everything that was inside. Thankfully, it’s not a true subscription since you pay when you want it and doesn’t renew automatically.
I wanted to try almost all of the products already so when I say them in a box I got really excited. The products included were:
- Nexxus Shampoo and Conditioner
- ACURE Pore-Minimizing Red Clay Mask
- 2 Nubian Heritage Bath Bombs
- Wet n Wild MegaLast Liquid Lipstick
- a Nexxus Vitall 8-in-1 Masque
- Guess Dare Fragrance for Women
- Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Polish
- Vichy Pore-Purifying Clay Mask
I will be honest. I pretty much got this Target beauty box to test out the Vichy mask since I have heard so many good things about them. I haven’t had a chance to test everything out, but I have done my research!
Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Polish: $13.99
This product is similar to a sugar scrub. It has a gentle exfoliation and smells AMAZING! A tip they suggested was to use it before applying a sunless tanner for beautiful coloring. Test it out and let me know how it turns out!
Guess Dare Fragrance for Women: $34.99
I’m not a huge perfume fan, but I could tolerate this one. It has hints of kumquat, jasmine and coconut palm which left me dreaming of the beach.
ACURE Pore-Minimizing Red Clay Mask: $14.99
This mask draws out oil and dirt while leaving the skin moisturized and smooth. The back of the bottle says when you begin to look like an extra in a zombie movie from all the red, you know it is time to let it dry. A tip that was suggested online from Target is to wash it off before it hardens completely or else your skin will dry out.
Nexxus Shampoo and Conditioner: $18.99-$25.99
This product helps dry and brittle hair regain its strength. It comes in the cutest little bottles that are perfect for traveling!
Nubian Heritage Bath Bombs: $14.99
These coconut and papaya bath bombs smell incredible! I am a sucker for bath bombs, salts, and bubbles. These are a little small so you may need to use both at the same time. They moisturize your skin and leave you more relaxed than before.
Nexxus Vitall 8-in-1 Masque: $3.99
I am a believer in hair masques! I don’t think I would have any hair without them since I need to repair it so often. This masque uses coconut oil, soybean oil, and keratin to strengthen and repair hair. Use it in place of conditioner and leave in your hair for five minutes before washing out.
Vichy Pore-Purifying Clay Mask: $20.00
I tried this mask rather embarrassingly on Instagram Stories. Despite my ridiculousness, I ended up loving the product! I truly felt a difference in my skin after testing it out. This brand is always on my radar since I see it all over social media and I wanted to see what the hype was about. I definitely wasn’t disappointed and I am excited to try more of their products.
Wet n Wild MegaLast Liquid Lipstick: $4.69-$4.99
I am a fan of matte lipstick and I have never tried this brand before now. It lasted for a long time and dried really well without taking any moisture out of my lips. I would definitely recommend a lip liner since the edges didn’t smooth as well as I wanted.
Was it worth it?
I would say yes! The Target beauty box is valued at $32.75 which is still triple of what I paid. However, if you wanted to test all these products at full price over a period of time, it would cost $152.92!
I am glad I was able to try some new things and next time and I look forward to testing more. Where have you subscribed to? Is it worth the money?
XOXO Kayla
