These things to do in Utah should be at the top of your bucket list!
I’ve lived in Utah for 5 years! I can hardly believe it! From my time here, I’ve done a ton of fun activities each summer. I think Utah is one of the most underrated states! These are the best things to do in Utah that I got to mark off of my bucket list.
Young Living Lavender Fields
The Young Living Lavender Fields are so DREAMY! Every summer, we drive down to Mona to take pictures in the lavender. It smells divine and the pictures are to die for! We usually go on the weekends to take some pictures at sunset and it’s always worth it.
Provo Amphitheater
Taz and I took our anniversary pictures at the Provo Amphitheater. In the late spring and early summer, the flowers bloom in the grove which is gorgeous. I know they also host different plays and performances at the “castle” which could be neat to see. We haven’t seen any events there, but it’s an adorable place to watch a play or have a picnic. (**NOTE** There is an entrance fee so make sure to pay at the office before entering)
National Parks
Utah contains Zion’s, Bryce Canyon, Arches, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands and other smaller state parks. Going to the national parks is one of my favorite things to do in Utah. Taz and I got a chance to go down to Zion’s earlier this year and it’s absolutely beautiful! There’s incredible hikes, good food and amazing views. We haven’t had a chance to do down to Capitol Reef or Canyonlands so those are next on our list!
Antelope Island
Taz and I went here when we were first married and loved it! There’s some places to camp, hike and you can see buffalo EVERYWHERE so be careful. Take some time to explore because it is a great way to see the Great Salt Lake without having to drive all the way to the Salt Flats.
Temple Square
Temple Square is one of the most iconic things to do in Utah. The flowers bloom in early summer making the grounds gorgeous. I am LDS (a Latter-Day Saint) and if you don’t know a lot about the Mormon faith, it’s a great place to go to learn more about it.
Deer Creek
Last summer, Taz and I went to Deer Creek up Provo Canyon near Heber. We rented a camping spot and stayed the night in a tent. It’s a beautiful place to go swim, barbeque or just hang out. If you’re craving a beach, this is the next best thing.
Park City
Park City is awesome! In the winter, you can go skiing and tubing, but in the summer, there’s the Alpine Slide and the Alpine Coaster. We went last summer and had a blast! You take the ski lift up and then ride down the mountain. There’s no better views than that!
Waterfalls
There’s a ton of breathtaking waterfalls in Utah! We went to Bridal Veil and Grotto Falls before and we are hoping to make it down to Donut and Stewart Falls before the summer ends. All those hikes are relatively easy and family friendly for all ages.
Homestead Crater
This is one of my favorite things to do in Utah! It’s a natural hot spring inside a giant crater. We got to go snorkeling and I know some of my friends actually got scuba certified there. It’s a really neat place to go that you definitely have to do at least once!
These are all of my favorite things to do in Utah during the summer! I hope to update it with some other adventures we have before it begins to get cold again. Let me know your favorites because we are always looking for more things to do.
